Mayor Coleman Unveils New GreenSpot Initiative
Today Mayor Michael B. Coleman along with area businesses unveiled the new GreenSpot program designed to inspire, educate and recognize those in our community who are taking steps to get green. The first City of Columbus GreenSpot was given to Elizabeth Lessner and Carmen Owens Co-owners of the Surly Girl Saloon.

Mayor Coleman and Councilmember O'Shaughnessy Announce New Parking Areas for Motorcycles and Scooters

Today Mayor Michael B. Coleman and City Councilmember Maryellen O’Shaughnessy joined local scooter enthusiasts to announce the City’s plan to add new on-street and alley parking Downtown, in the Short North and in the Brewery District specifically designated for motorcycles and scooters.

MAYOR ESTABLISHES INSTITUTE FOR ACTIVE LIVING
Following up on his 2008 State of the City announcement to promote healthy living, Mayor Michael B. Coleman today announced the creation of the Institute for Active Living.  The Institute will work to reduce childhood obesity by increasing our residents’ access to physical activity and fresh food, and by implementing strategies to make Columbus a more active, vibrant place to live.
